Stage Managers

About this Role

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is seeking stage managers who are detail-oriented, highly motivated, and proactive. Our stage management positions fuse the fundamentals of theatrical stage management and company management practices, with responsibility to lead, supervise, and take ownership of the rehearsal process and subsequent daily operation of their assigned show venue or event product. This role manages multiple performances and/or multiple productions each day with a focus on maintaining show quality, developing and motivating their cast and crew, facilitating communication, and creating a harmonious work environment.

  • Shows run daily throughout the year and a variety of employment periods are available.
  • Applicants must have experience creating and maintaining production books, running/track sheets, and blocking notation.
  • Applicants must be comfortable working in show areas under all weather conditions and in dark/nighttime conditions. 
  • Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds alone and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Applicants must be able to communicate via headset and work in a team environment. 
  • Some positions, depending on the role, may require a valid driver’s license.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Event Stage Manager

Event stage managers are responsible for the scheduling, execution and supervision of the daily operation of the event venue, cast and crew.
Starting Hourly Pay Rate:  $13.24
Theatrical Stage Manager
Theatrical stage managers should have a strong working knowledge of choreography, staging, blocking, and basic piano skills or the ability to read music is a plus. This position is responsible for facilitating and coordinating all aspects of rehearsals and auditions and for the scheduling, execution and supervision of the daily operation of the show venue, cast and crew.  Theatrical stage managers must be able to make production adjustments and accommodate show needs in a variety of venues and situations and have the ability to make guest-centered and performer-safe decisions quickly.  This position assists show directors and the production team in coordinating new show and event elements by performing production stage management duties for show installs with the ability to manage substantial production task lists.
Starting Hourly Pay Rate:  $16.91
